We Don't Just Fold Clothes... We Fold Proteins!
At Cut Cute Couture®, our motto is simple: 'don't just look good'®. Naturally, we like a soft cardigan with crystal buttons, a sexy animal print or cute floral top. But it's hard to ignore how celebrity-obsessed and selfish women's fashion is.
So, when we're not using our computers for fashion, they work on finding cures for cancer (really), discovering drugs, modeling climate change, researching clean energy, studying childhood diseases...
You'll find information on the free software and projects you can participate in at: Boinc (which sounds kind of dirty, but actually stands for Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing, run by University of California at Berkeley). Then when you're ready, Join team Cut Cute Couture and devote your unused computing cycles to humanitarian or scientific causes you care about.
In our own business, our label uses a high percentage of natural fibers, and we make the vast majority of our clothes in the USA, using sweat shop free vendors.
We're also fans of ProPublica and their journalism in the public interest, as well as Mother Jones and their reader supported, award-winning journalism.
At retail, Cut Cute Couture®'s hangtags have a wide variety of 'don't just look good'® messages to spread the word about the environment, health, education, public policy and so on. If you agree that smart is the new sexy, let us know what you think about our fashion campaign for corporate and social responsibility.
Post something on Our Facebook page, retweet for us, set up your computer to lend a hand when you're not using it, give us your ideas... join the 'don't just look good'® movement. That way, you also won't just be looking good while wearing one of our tees, tops or sweaters.
djlg,
The fashionistas of Cut Cute Couture®.
